Calcutta Manga

Influenced by her 2001 Asialink residency in Tokyo with Keiko Takaya Dance Company, Rakini’s persona of Calcutta Manga is a creation of a hybrid post apocalyptic super heroine. The accompanying film by Canadian filmmaker Nancy Jones was designed as an interactive performance, using the notion of an animated comic book series.
